Join Australian Filmmaker Phillip Noyce for a Masterclass and Conversation on the art and craft of film-making as he traces his enormously successful career spanning over fifty years and gives you some insider tips about the film industry.
A highly engaging speaker, Phillip Noyce will make this event one to remember.
Hosted at the Embassy of Australia and followed by a reception. 3:00-4:30 Masterclass; 4:30-5:30pm reception.

DCIFF2019 is honored to present a Retrospective of the work of film director Phillip Noyce in association with the Embassy of Australia. Since he blazed onto the international scene with his 1breakout film Newsfront set in post-WW2 Australia, Noyce has directed and produced an impressive body of films. Lauded for his direction of action films (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, SALT) and thrillers (Dead Calm, The Bone Collector), he is equally celebrated for work that addresses social and political issues (Rabbit Proof Fence, The Quiet American). Noyces expertise and talent has assured that he continues to work at the highest levels in Hollywood after fifty years of filmmaking. Please join us at DCIFF to celebrate Phillip Noyces career with the screening of films form three periods of his career: Newsfront (1977), Dead Calm (1988) and The Quiet American (2002) and to participate in his Masterclass. Phillip Noyce will be in attendance.
